CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Should I put money down on a lease?
Many experts suggest keeping a lease down payment small or zero. Cash you put down reduces the payment, but if the car is stolen or totaled, GAP typically covers what you owe, not the money you already paid, so that down payment is usually lost. You'll still owe the first payment and fees at signing in most cases. If you want lower payments, consider applying the cash to multiple payments or simply keeping it.
