CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
When is my first car payment due?
Your first payment is often due about 30 to 45 days after you sign, but the exact date is in your retail installment contract, so check it rather than waiting for a bill. Some lenders send a welcome letter or set up an online account; if you have not heard from the lender within a couple of weeks, contact them. Interest typically starts accruing from the contract date. For leases, the first payment is often due at signing.
