CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Can a dealer change my trade-in offer after the appraisal?
A dealer can revise an offer if the car's condition, mileage or history turns out to differ from what was assessed, and instant online offers are usually conditional on inspection. Once you've signed a contract listing the trade-in value, that figure should be part of the agreement. Make sure the trade value and the payoff amount are written on your purchase paperwork, and keep copies. Read every document before signing.
