Replaced an older Hyundai with this one. Big step up in cargo room; I'd like a little more power from the base engine.

Hyundai Ioniq 5: everyday electric done right. Illustrative review
8.9/10 OffLot expert score
The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 sits near the top of its class. Standard driver-assist suite; roomy second row and flexible cargo floor. Third row (where offered) is for kids and touch-only climate controls on some trims, so test the trim you'd actually buy. Starting around $45,000, it lines up with most direct rivals.

The cargo room is the standout. My only gripe is the touchscreen climate controls, which I knew going in.
We cross-shopped three others and this won on cargo room. the touchscreen climate controls is the trade-off.
