The fuel economy is the standout. My only gripe is road noise on the highway, which I knew going in.

2026 Mazda Mazda3 review
Mazda Mazda3: a class leader on the details. Illustrative review
8.4/10 OffLot expert score
The 2026 Mazda Mazda3 sits near the top of its class. Comfortable front seats on long trips; standard driver-assist suite. Road noise on coarse pavement and rear headroom is tight for tall passengers, so test the trim you'd actually buy. Starting around $25,000, it undercuts most direct rivals.

Twelve thousand miles in. Nothing has gone wrong, dealer service has been easy, and the fuel economy still impresses passengers.
Replaced an older Mazda with this one. Big step up in fuel economy; I'd like a little more rear headroom.
