EXPERT REVIEW · THREE-ROW SUV

2026 Toyota Highlander review

Toyota Highlander: the family hauler that doesn't feel like one. Illustrative review

7.6/10 OffLot expert score

The 2026 Toyota Highlander is a reasonable choice if the price is right. Standard driver-assist suite; easy to see out of and park. Third row (where offered) is for kids and engine gets loud under hard acceleration, so test the trim you'd actually buy. Starting around $40,000, it lines up with most direct rivals.

Better than the test drive suggested

Bought it for the school runs and road trips and it has handled everything so far. Fuel economy has been close to the sticker in mixed driving.

Happy after a year

The cargo room is the standout. My only gripe is the touchscreen climate controls, which I knew going in.

Would buy again

Twelve thousand miles in. Nothing has gone wrong, dealer service has been easy, and the cargo room still impresses passengers.
