2026 Toyota Tacoma review

Toyota Tacoma: capability first, comfort close behind. Illustrative review

8.0/10 OffLot expert score

The 2026 Toyota Tacoma is a strong contender in its class. Standard driver-assist suite; strong tow and payload ratings for the class. Fuel economy drops sharply when towing and some cabin plastics feel basic on base trims, so test the trim you'd actually buy. Starting around $33,000, it undercuts most direct rivals.

Good, not perfect

The towing stability is the standout. My only gripe is the fuel bill when towing, which I knew going in.

Solid, with a few quirks

Replaced an older Toyota with this one. Big step up in towing stability; I'd like a little more rear-seat room.
