What OffLot counts
When you ask me for a four-door car, I’ll keep both parts of that request intact: it must be a car, with exactly four doors people use to get in and out. A hatch, trunk lid, liftgate or tailgate does not count as a passenger door.
If the door count is unknown, that vehicle has not met your requirement yet.
Then compare the useful differences
Camry, Corolla, Crown, Altima, Sentra, and Prius differ in roofline, trunk or liftback access, efficiency, drivetrain, controls, and pricing. Match those facts to the shopper rather than treating every four-door car as interchangeable.
Verify the exact year
Safety equipment, powertrains, dimensions, and infotainment can change by model year and trim. Use the linked manufacturer page and NHTSA/IIHS for the exact year and body style.
A shortlist with a reason for each car
Start with a hard purchase budget and confirm that each candidate is a four-door passenger car. Do not replace that requirement with a four-door SUV just because it has a similar payment. Within the remaining cars, decide whether the recurring problem is rear-seat access, commute cost, highway comfort, trunk shape or parking size.
Pick two or three candidates that answer that question differently.
For example, compare a compact Corolla or Sentra with a midsize Camry or Altima by trying the rear seating position you actually need. Add a Prius when conventional-hybrid efficiency is relevant, but check cargo access and driving position rather than assuming the hatchback shape wins every task.
A Crown’s raised sedan format is another approach, not evidence that it matches an SUV’s loading needs.
Keep model year and powertrain beside every comparison. A newer Camry’s standard hybrid layout does not establish what is fitted to this preview’s 2024 SE. Likewise, a road test of a different trim cannot confirm the included equipment. Price, mileage, color and condition labels in OffLot are synthetic shopping examples.
Use them to practice a disciplined shortlist; obtain real listing and inspection evidence before making a purchase decision.
