If a trailer is part of the plan, its tongue weight and the loaded cabin must be considered together. Compare a Highlander or Sienna for different priorities rather than treating a larger SUV as the inevitable upgrade.
The useful choice is the one that meets the actual passenger, cargo and tow task with acceptable everyday parking and operating costs.
