CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

What happens in the F&I office?

The F&I (finance and insurance) office is where you sign the purchase or lease contract and finalize financing. The F&I manager usually presents your loan terms and offers optional products like extended service contracts, GAP coverage, tire-and-wheel protection and maintenance plans. These are optional, and you can decline them or buy them later in many cases. Review the APR, term, amount financed and total price before signing, and make sure numbers match what you agreed to.
