CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Do you have to plug in a hybrid?
No. A regular hybrid, sometimes called a full hybrid or HEV, charges its own battery through regenerative braking and the gas engine, so you just fill it with gas like any car. Only plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and fully electric vehicles need to be plugged in. A plug-in hybrid will still drive normally on gas if you never charge it, but you lose most of its efficiency benefit. Check the vehicle's fuel type on the listing to be sure which kind it is.
