CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
How long does it take to charge an electric car?
It depends on the charger, the vehicle and how full the battery already is. Level 1 charging from a household outlet can take a day or more to fully charge a large battery. Level 2 typically refills most EVs overnight. DC fast charging can often take a battery from low to around 80 percent in roughly 20 to 60 minutes. Charging slows as the battery fills, which is why fast-charging stops usually end near 80 percent.
