CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

What do lenders ask for when applying for a car loan?

Lenders typically ask for your name, address and how long you've lived there, date of birth, Social Security number, employer and time on the job, income, housing payment and other debts. Before funding, they may request proof such as recent pay stubs, tax returns or bank statements if self-employed, a utility bill or lease for residence, a driver's license and proof of insurance. Having these ready can speed up approval.
