CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
What is a vehicle history report?
A vehicle history report is a summary of a car's past based on its VIN, compiled from records such as title documents, insurance claims, police reports, auctions and some service shops. It can reveal reported accidents, title brands, odometer readings, number of owners and usage like rental or fleet. Reports don't capture everything, since unreported damage and private repairs may be missing. Use one alongside an independent inspection.
