CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
What paperwork do I need to trade in my car?
Bring the title if you have it, or your lender's name, account number and payoff information if there's a loan. You'll also want your current registration, a valid driver's license, all keys and fobs, and any service records. If the car is jointly owned, every owner listed on the title may need to sign or be present. Some states require extra forms, like an odometer disclosure or power of attorney, which the dealer usually provides. Check your state DMV for specifics.
