CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Can I return a car after I buy it from a dealer?
Generally, no. There is no federal three-day cooling-off right to return a car once you've signed. Some dealers offer their own return or exchange policies, so ask for those in writing before buying. California has a contract cancellation option that applies to some used cars under $40,000 if purchased then. Because returns are rarely guaranteed, test drive thoroughly, get an inspection on used cars, and read everything before signing.
