CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

Do electric cars get worse range on the highway?

Usually, yes. Unlike gas cars, EVs are generally most efficient at lower speeds, because aerodynamic drag rises quickly as speed increases and there is less regenerative braking on steady highway runs. Driving at 75 mph instead of 65 mph can noticeably cut range. If you do a lot of highway driving, look for models with strong highway efficiency and plan charging stops with some buffer. Independent tests from outlets and owners can show highway range for specific models.
