CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

Should I make a lowball offer on a car?

A very low offer with no reasoning often gets ignored or ends the conversation, while a researched offer is more likely to start a productive one. Base your offer on comparable out-the-door prices, the vehicle's condition and history, and how long it has been listed. You can still start below your walk-away number, leaving room to meet in the middle. Being specific and respectful usually works better than shock value.
