CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

Can I trade in two cars at once?

Yes, many dealers will accept more than one trade-in on a single purchase. Each vehicle is appraised separately, and the combined equity, or negative equity, is applied to your deal. You'll need titles or payoff information for both cars, and all titled owners may need to sign. Ask for each trade value in writing so you can compare them to outside offers, and check whether your state's trade-in tax credit applies to multiple vehicles.

General information, not legal or financial advice; rules vary by state and lender.
