CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Do I have to buy an extended warranty to get financing?
Generally no. Service contracts, GAP and other protection products are optional, and you can decline them. If you are told an add-on is required for the loan, ask for that in writing and ask the lender directly; the CFPB and FTC both warn shoppers about add-ons slipped into a deal. Review the itemized contract before signing and remove anything you did not agree to. On OffLot, Build your deal lists protection products separately and marks them as optional.
