CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
Is an extended warranty worth it?
It depends on your situation, and there is no one right answer. A service contract can make sense if you plan to keep the vehicle well past the factory warranty, the model has expensive-to-repair systems, or you would struggle to pay a large surprise repair bill. It may be less useful if the car still has years of factory coverage or you have savings for repairs. Compare the price to likely repair costs, read the exclusions, and remember you can usually buy one later.
