CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS
How do I plan a road trip in an EV?
Use your vehicle's built-in navigation, which on many EVs plans charging stops and preconditions the battery, or a charging app or route planner. Check which networks your vehicle can use, including Tesla Superchargers with or without an adapter, and have a backup station for each stop. Plan to charge to around 80 percent at fast chargers, allow extra range for cold weather, highway speeds and towing, and download network apps and set up payment before you leave.
