CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

What are NACS and CCS charging connectors?

NACS (North American Charging Standard, also called SAE J3400) is the plug design Tesla developed, and CCS (Combined Charging System) is the standard most other automakers used for fast charging. Many automakers have been switching new models to NACS ports and gaining access to Tesla Superchargers, often with an adapter for vehicles that still have CCS ports. Some older models use CHAdeMO. Check which port a vehicle has and which charging networks it can use with or without an adapter.
