CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

What are the different types of title brands?

Common title brands include salvage, rebuilt or reconstructed, flood or water damage, fire, hail, junk or non-repairable, lemon or manufacturer buyback, and odometer-related brands like not actual mileage or exceeds mechanical limits. Names and rules vary by state. A clean title means no brands have been recorded. Check a history report and NMVTIS data, since brands can sometimes be lost when a car is retitled in another state.
