CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

Do dealers negotiate on used cars more than new cars?

It varies. Used cars have no MSRP or invoice, and each one's price depends on what the dealer paid and spent reconditioning it, so flexibility differs car to car. Vehicles listed for a while sometimes see more movement. New cars have published pricing and incentives that make comparison easier. In both cases, research comparable vehicles, check history and condition, and negotiate the out-the-door price.
