CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

Why is the advertised price different from the price at the dealership?

Advertised prices often exclude taxes, title, registration and the doc fee, and sometimes assume rebates you may not qualify for, such as loyalty, military or financing-dependent incentives. Dealer add-ons or market adjustments may also be added at the store. Read the ad's fine print to see what's included and ask for an itemized out-the-door quote before you visit. If a dealer refuses to honor a clearly advertised price, your state attorney general's consumer protection office is the place to report it.
