CAR-BUYING QUESTIONS

What is the Buyers Guide on a used car?

The Buyers Guide is a window sticker the FTC Used Car Rule requires dealers to display on used vehicles they offer for sale. It says whether the car comes with a warranty or is sold as is, describes any warranty coverage, lists major problems that can occur, and advises getting an independent inspection. The final version becomes part of your sales contract and overrides contrary terms. Keep a copy, and ask for one if you do not see it.
